Carol Martinez has had a long active career in insurance and financial services in Texas. For the past 17 years, she has headed her own insurance agency.

At Carol Martinez dba State Farm Insurance, Ms. Martinez has helped educate the community about insurance and financial services. She speaks at many schools and encourages young students to get involved in the insurance industry. She has helped and mentored several individuals achieve successful outcomes in their quest to become successful agents. She has been very successful and has qualified to travel all over the world. Mrs. Martinez has taken active leadership roles in local and state organizations.
Ms. Martinez has served as a past City Councilwoman, elected for two consecutive terms for the City of Abilene; she also co-organized the first voter registration drive in Abilene for Southwest Voter. Additionally, she served as the Chairman of Cinco de Mayo for St. Vincent’s Catholic Church, the Abilene Planning and Zoning Commission for 5 years, and she is past chair of the Abilene Children’s Today task force. Also, Ms. Martinez is a sustainer of The Junior League of Abilene. She is a Graduate of Leadership Abilene and Leadership Texas. Ms. Martinez has also served on the boards of American Red Cross, United Way, Meals on Wheels, Navidad En El Barrio and was co-founder of the Hispanic Leadership Council all while living in Abilene, Texas. She is also a member of the Dallas Hispanic 100 and served as the past treasurer for two years.
Ms. Martinez is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She is married to Jose Armin Martinez, an Architect. She is a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and has two children; Joey, a graduate student at UTD and Gabrielle a sophomore at Red Oak High School.
