| TAMACC was founded
in 1975 to encourage opportunities in commerce and
to organize local programs to improve the overall
economic conditions of the Hispanic business population
in Texas. Originally composed
of fewer than 20 business owners and professionals
from three Texas cities, TAMACC currently assists
28 Texas Hispanic chambers through regional workshops,
legislative advocacy, business information dissemination
and special project development.
Since its incorporation, TAMACC has
become one of the most prominent state Hispanic
chamber associations in the country. In 1989, the
association established the TAMACC Educational Development
Foundation. The foundation serves to promote the
educational and professional development of the
Hispanic community in Texas.
Today TAMACC represents more than 15,000 Hispanic business
owners in 26 cities throughout Texas.
