On Friday, February 28, 2008, TAMACC
named Frank
Cortez as their new President & CEO. A renowned civic and corporate
leader, Mr. Cortez has over 25 years of professional, leadership and
management experience with various organizations and corporations.
Mr. Cortez will be based at the TAMACC Headquarters in Austin,
Texas.

opportunities for Texas Hispanic Businesses,” said TAMACC Chair Arcilia
Acosta. “Frank
has established an outstanding rapport with Chambers and legislators
throughout the state and across the nation. This, along with his innovative
leadership style, will enable us to place our membership at the forefront.
TAMACC will continue to focus on procurement, advocacy and legislation
issues throughout the state.”
For the last seven years, Mr. Cortez has held the position of Director of
Economic Opportunity at the Dallas Area Rapid Transit. Prior to that, Mr.
Cortez was President of the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for
11 years and President of the Victoria Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for 3
years.
Mr. Cortez’ experience in
leadership development and training will provide our member chambers with
the support they need to educate their membership on numerous topics
affecting their growing businesses. Some of his areas of expertise include:
Leadership Training, Organization Development, Procurement Opportunities &
Strategies, Chamber Management, Corporate Fundraising and Event Planning, to
name a few.
